By now you have heard of journaling but what exactly is it? Why is it beneficial? How and where do you start? Journaling is the process of recording one’s journey. For hundreds of years, records were kept as ships logs. A journal is often referred to as a diary to keep records of daily events, thoughts, ideas, inspirations, and interactions. But the modern journal is so much more. With it you can record your systems, experiments and observations as well as how the outcome made you feel and ability to metric or measure the results of the experience.
Gratitude journaling how and why
The law of attraction illustrates time and time again that the fuel that runs the universe is love and gratitude. As a child I was told to give thanks before each meal. Before showing gratitude for the food, I was taught to go through a list of several items for which I’m grateful. People in the personal improvement genre are using gratitude journals to allow themselves to create a more positive mind set and claiming it allows them to reach their goals more effectively.
Remembering People’s Names When You Meet
Oh crap!!! Here I go again. I’m at a fairly informal gathering. I see people everywhere but I can’t remember the names. My palms are sweating and I feel dizzy. I’ve already escaped the 5,4,3,2,1 count of going up to someone to say hi without thinking about it. I feel like an idiot. Oh no, here comes 2 people I recognize there faces, but I don’t’ remember their names. What do I do? Oh wait their pausing, maybe they forgot my name… Nope they were just grabbing an hors d’oeuvre. I’m toast. “Hi –J- How are you? How’s your son and daughters?” Oh, my life just ended, I know it did. I’m so embarrassed, am I blushing? How the hell do I get out of this? There’s the bathroom. No, that won’t work I just used it on the way in. Dale Carnegie where are you? Here goes nothing… or maybe everything… Who can tell?
Why I’m grateful for sand
Hurricane Irma is on its way to where I live. In a few days it’s entirely possible that my home and all of my belongings will be washed away. We don’t know yet because the weather forecasters don’t entirely understand all the variables involved. Now the entire time my friends and family have said that I was over reacting. I’m not going to argue, but I realized that with the storm on both sides of the state, warm the west, and cold in the
What are GMOS?
A GMO is a genetically modified organism. Although it is primarily been used for food production, but I have heard rumors of experiments in the lab that are nothing less then successful Frankenstein experiments. The modification is completed in the DNA through genetic engineering. Many successful alterations are actually patented. Many countries have banned the product others require GMO’s to be labeled. Neither is true in the
Motivating others is it possible?
Let’s face it; it’s just not reasonable to force others to do stuff for you. And at the end of the day, it’s actually impossible to make anyone do anything.. Short of hypnosis of course and many don’t believe in it. Furthermore, it’s a pain in the ass to try to convince others to do something they don’t want to do. It will be a big investment of time and effort to get them to move toward a goal they don’t have a vested interest in.
How to focus on the task at hand
Focus on completion until success. What does this actually mean? The dictionary refers to focus as “the center of interest or activity.” But, what if you don’t center on the correct things? It’s obvious that undivided attention on the items that will bring about success, because you bring about what you think about, but why don’t people do it?
MLM: Scams? Schemes? Business as usual…
I am so tired of hearing this about MLM’s. There are over 2,000 active MLM’s and many over 20 years old. A properly run MLM is not only a sound business model, but the educational structures they possess are often the best there is outside of paid education. The people who are in MLM’s are self employed and are passionate about the product they use and sell to support their family.
Techniques to Review your life
The Jesuits set up systems to review their activity about every 3 months, then an annual review, etc… In my experience, this serves as an amazing technique to maintain the lifestyle you wish to achieve. That being said it can be quite confusing as to why and how to review your life. I on a regular basis (about every 3 months) do what is often called the epitaph test. About every 3 months I take a moment to think what my tomb stone will say. I know this is hard for some of you, but please just follow me here.
Am I a human or a number?
Has anyone ever sent you an E-mail that seemed like they forgot you were a living person? Have you ever gone to a store and felt like you weren’t a person? Just a number like at the deli, or the automobile tag office? It seems like we have been completely tokenized, even in social interactions we are now a screen name. At the root of customer service, people who are interacting with people must treat those people like they would wish to be treated. However, in our “Race to the Bottom,” as Seth Godin so cleverly calls it, we have dehumanized interactions with other people in favor of a better price, and a lack of reliability from the product.
