Seniors often say life goes by much too quickly. Don’t take it for granted. Meanwhile, the children ignore the recommendation until they are giving the same advice to their kids. We are all born with an expiration date. It’s tattooed in the annals of the universe in invisible ink, where the curious try to find it, but the truly alive live it to the fullest. But why so many people do not appreciate the people who surround them, but an old adage “you are meanest to the ones you love most” and “familiarity breeds contempt”, and we just take them for granted. It should be the exact opposite; we should show gratitude for the people in our lives.
A food Journal: A tool for figuring out what I ate, or is it a trap?
No matter what your eating program is, restricted, or not, you are still human. As a human you must take in energy, nutrients, sleep and excrete waste. If you take in more nutrients and energy than you use, the remaining energy will be stored as excess fat. The good news is that this is natural. However, unless you plan to hibernate for the Winter, keeping tabs on the amount of fat you store will be in your over all best interest. If you effectively succeed at this step and you keep accurate records, not trying to lie to yourself, and you don’t have a medical condition that is causing the weight gain, you can and will succeed.
Be a task handler not a worker bee
The age-old question “Does the dog wag the tail, or does the tail wag the dog?” I never figured the answer to this one out, although I have often pondered it. Tonight, while I was folding socks, which ordinarily isn’t a big deal, but in our house, we have a basked with about 100-150 pairs of socks that people dive into and grab what they need instead of organizing them. Until, dad just can’t take it any more and the OCD finally causes me to match them at 1:30am. I realized that it wasn’t a job it was a task, and I should allow myself to be in the moment and feel what I was doing was bringing value to the rest of the family.
Tackling the Green Eyed Monster
From time to time virtually everyone has experienced jealousy. It’s an emotion that can and often does has devastating consequences to relationships, both social and romantic. Jealousy tends to be a negative emotion that may display itself as anger, hurt, dependency and self-doubt. Sadly self-doubt is an expression of fear of loss. The real mind twist is that we ourselves often create the reality that we fear through our behavior and actions as a result of our own jealousy.
Business Death by MLM
Have you ever met anyone who has “gone into business for themselves?†And failed? Have you ever met anyone who has tried and MLM and failed? I have met allot of them. Ironically from what I can figure the failure rate is almost the same. There is allot of quit out there. About 80% and of the 20% that are still going 80% of those will probably quit in the next 3-5 years. That means not allot of people are succeeding… Why?
Family as legacy
As a coach who focuses on family leveraged entrepreneurial spirit the work life balance can often be a confusing topic. When we refer to family, it not only refers to the legacy of our children, but how our children interact with the world in which they live. Teaching children that it’s not only a great idea to give back to the community in which they live, but it actually allows you to leverage your efforts to give back.
I’m fat because it’s genetic
have often heard people say “I’m fat because it’s genetic” or “I have a thyroid problem.” It makes me crazy when I ask “so when were you diagnosed?” They reply, Oh I didn’t get diagnosed I just know. It makes me want to scream, as they don’t realize that even though they eat that ½ gallon of ice cream after the family went to sleep their body will expose their dirty little secret. Fact is I have suffered from Hypothyroidism, and for someone who is mentally active as me, it’s a terrible feeling to feel like you brain is a live wire and your body feels like it’s depressed. It’s almost like living in someone else’s body. Every task requires so much effort to move that it’s almost debilitating and in some cases, it can be. Furthermore, the dry skin and people making fun of how you look can really tax your self esteem. Hypothyroidism sucks, so if you haven’t been diagnosed, please don’t claim you have it. So, let’s explore why people are really fat.
Love vs. Fear
There are two stable points in the universe that virtually all emotions stem from that both feed and decay the universe. They are simple and we talk about them every day. They are Love and Fear. They are so over simplified that they are almost ignored as people go about their day. But, in actuality it goes so much deeper. I get it sounds woo, woo, but trust me it works…
How not to live with a scarcity mentality
The belief that there is not enough, that we don’t live in a virtual cornucopia of opportunity is the psychological state where thoughts of competition reside. If one believes there is not enough to go around, there would be a mad rush to take as much as you can from everyone else.
How to reconcile your check book against your bank statement
OK, so you can balance your checkbook. But, do you know that if you don’t reconcile your checkbook against your bank statement, that if the bank charges you a fee unexpectedly, or if you have bouncing checks and don’t realize it, you could lose a lot of money unexpectedly.
