The self or spirit of a person can be easily broken into 4 quadrants or what I like to call pillars. These four pillars have distinct characteristics that when brought together equally can lead to a life of health, happiness, and unprecedented prosperity.
To apply more to one then the others will leave your body, your mind, your philanthropic obligation (including gratitude) or lifestyle out of balance. You were never meant to be poor. Whether you believe in a higher being or just the blessings of the universe, can you try to justify why someone else should have more pleasure and experience from life than you? We are all living beings, all of the same substance and we all eat, sleep…
Why do you think that your sacrifice of lifestyle to help the poor, who have not grown their own prosperity would possible make the world a better place? Instead, consider building your own prosperity and sharing it with the poor. Thereby the people you affect are not just the poor, but the other people in the community from whom you purchase goods and services.
By no means are you to be selfish, but instead to consider that by only distributing your time and not creating and sharing prosperity leaves the people who live and work in your community out. Is there a reason why they should not be prosperous.
